This marked the beginning of my journey into design projects. My initial task was to select a pun suitable for a t-shirt design and hand-letter it in a style that complemented the chosen pun. The constraint of not using black and white spurred my creativity. My objective was to capture the interest of young adults aged from their teenage years to 30.
While the incorporation of tacos was an immediate thought, I found inspiration in vintage boxing posters for my design elements. Employing a warm analogous colour palette, adopting a fight stance composition for the tacos, and utilizing a slab serif font all contributed to achieving the desired vintage poster aesthetic.
I was pleasantly surprised when my work resonated with my peers and voted the best in the class. This affirmed the success of my approach and fuelled my enthusiasm for future design.
