I crafted this series of seed packets in support of a nonprofit organization dedicated to mentoring youth and fostering the exploration and development of their core abilities (empathy, creativity, curiosity, resourcefulness, sociability, integrity, resilience, self-awareness). Each packet represents one of the 8 core abilities and is tailored to attract adult mentors interested in nurturing positive change among young individuals.
Employing a minimalist design approach, along with a carefully chosen colour palette and whimsical typography, the packaging is designed to appeal to both adults and youth. A subtle watercolour effect applied to the textured recycled paper serves to highlight each illustration, capturing the essence of the cause at the core of the packaging.
My aspiration is for these distinctive seed packets to command attention on store shelves, drawing awareness to Core Crop and its mission to empower youth to thrive.
Moreover, the logo design for Core Crop earned an honourable mention from a panel of 14 industry professionals with Graphis, amidst submissions from design students globally. Read more here
